Mrs. McDaniel’s Class

About Mrs. McDaniel

I teach Middle School English and Literature to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.  I was born in Leonardtown and grew up here.  I have a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from James Madison University (Go Dukes!).  Prior to attending college I went to Leonardtown High School, but before that I was blessed with a fantastic education from right here at Father Andrew White.  I attended Pre-K through 8th grade, and graduated from FAW in 2005.  This is my fourth year of teaching in Catholic schools.  Previously, I taught third grade for a year in North Carolina, and two years in Virginia as a third grade teacher and then a Librarian and Enrichment Resource Specialist working with all grades K-8th.  I just got married in October of this year, 2017, to my wonderful husband, Chris, and we have a small but furry family with 3 cats, Marlow, Thalia, and Stellaluna.  We also have cichlids, and our fish keep our kitties entertained while we are away during the day.  In our spare time, we love to spend time with family, (many live near us in SoMD), and do different projects around the house.  Personally, I love to read, draw and paint, write, listen to music and watch 80’s movies or anything by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. I am so happy to be back at FAW, returning to my roots where I received a wonderful education, as well as my own passion for teaching from the fabulous teachers here, some of whom I am lucky enough to work with today.  I love being a part of the FAW family!
