Dear Friend of Father Andrew White School,
As the new pastor of St. Aloysius since July, I am delighted to work with our principal Mrs. Linda Maloney, our teachers, administrators, and with so many committed parents and families whose children attend Father Andrew White School.
I am so proud of you and thankful for the outpouring of support you showed last year during which, under the leadership of Fr. John Dakes, you made possible the replacement of the roof on the school. The new roof is an outward physical sign of the great things that are going on in the classroom, which merited last year’s special recognition of us by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School.
Each year brings awareness of serious needs in the school and projects that must be initiated to address them.
One of the highlights of our recreational facilities has been our playground equipment, very popular with our children, who give it a daily workout. Our playground system of bars, slides, platforms and bridge is now eighteen years old and has reached the end of its usable life. In many places, the outer coating has worn through, exposing the metal underneath and presenting a safety liability.
This year Mrs. Maloney and I are appealing to you to help us replace the equipment with an up-to-date system, which will have an even longer lifespan. We will need to spend $30,000 for a new system, the going rate for one appropriate to our needs.
We are hopeful that you will consider a tax-deductible gift of $250 to our Annual Fund, which will go toward the replacement of our playground equipment. If that figure is a little challenging for your family at this time, any amount that is within your means would be deeply appreciated.
As we approach the 60th anniversary of Father Andrew White School next year, the replacement of the playground equipment will be another sign of our commitment to our children, whom we want to excel with strong minds and healthy bodies.
Please use the enclosed envelope to return the financial support that you are able to provide. In the meantime, Mrs. Maloney and I express our heartfelt appreciation for your participation in the Annual Fund and, most of all, for believing in the great mission of Father Andrew White School.
