**FA – THIS ELECTIVE FULFILLS THE FINE ARTS REQUIREMENT

**PA – THIS ELECTIVE FULFILLS THE PERFORMING ARTS REQUIREMENT

Dear Middle School Students and Parents,

This year we have mapped out our elective plan for the year so that you may make choices now, based on your interests and our new Performing Arts and Fine Arts requirement.  There are 7 elective choices offered each quarter and each elective quarter will run for 9 weeks.    Each student should make a 1st and 2nd choice selection for each quarter.

ALL middle school students are REQUIRED to complete ONE PERFORMING ARTS (PA) or ONE FINE ARTS (FA) elective each year of middle school.  During  the 3 years of middle school, both a PA and a FA elective must be completed (student cannot take FA all 3 years with no PA).  PLEASE NOTE:  Band and Chorus count as Performing Arts credits, so students in band and chorus may, but do not have to, choose a PA credit elective.

The PE, Student Teaching and 3D printing electives may only be taken once during the year.

Please select your first and second elective choice for each quarter, have your parents sign this form, and then return to your home room teacher by Friday, August 26th.    If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pietsch, or the teacher of the elective that you have a question about.
