Mrs. Schmidt’s Pre-K Class
About Mrs. Schmidt
Hello, my name is Theresa Schmidt. I teach Pre-K at Father Andrew White S.J. School. I was born in New Hampshire the youngest of eight and moved to Anne Arundel County, Maryland when I was in the fourth grade. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson State University in 1993. I began teaching at a preschool in Edgewater, Maryland immediately upon graduation. I taught pre-k and kindergarten there for four years before moving to St. Mary’s County.
My husband and I moved in 1997 and we love it here. We were blessed with three wonderful children whom I chose to stay home with until they were all in school full time. All of my children began their Catholic School experience here at FAW in the pre-k program. At that time the teacher was Mrs. Sheri Wolf, a remarkable teacher. After she moved on I was extremely fortunate to become the aide in the pre-k class for six years working with Mrs. Amelia Abbott for three years and Mrs. Lisa Jackson for three years. I learned so much from both of them and was thrilled when I was offered the position as lead teacher in 2015.
I now have a daughter in college, a daughter at Leonardtown High and a son at FAW. We spend many of our weekends and summer vacations at a family cabin in the very quiet rural town of Mt. Jackson, Virginia which is in the Shenandoah Valley. We love being close to Skyline Drive where we can climb and hike, keeping me active and ready for the marathon run that is Pre-K!
