U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan recognizes 269 schools as 2012 National Blue Ribbon Schools for their overall academic excellence or for making progress in improving student academic achievement levels. The U.S. Department of Education will honor 219 public and 50 private schools at a recognition ceremony in Washington, DC on November 12 and 13. Each school will receive a plaque and a flag to signify their status as National Blue Ribbon Schools.
Father Andrew White School received the National Blue Ribbon Award for 2012.
